Passing of Lori L. Underwood

It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we announce the passing of one of our own, Lori L. Underwood. Lori passed away suddenly on Sunday June 27, 2021. Lori joined The Community Fire Company of Rising Sun is October of 1993. She completed training to become a firefighter and paramedic. During her time with the department she served as EMS Captain for 2 years. On November 27,  1995 Lori responded to major accident involving a bus and was awarded The Maryland Star of Life from MIEMSS for her efforts. For the last 19 years she has been a firefighter and paramedic for the Baltimore City Fire Department assigned to Engine 51. She was also serving as the IAFF Local 734 Baltimore Firefighters union secretary and treasurer. Lori was devoted to service for others and she will be truly missed.

Viewing will be held at Leonard J. Ruck Funeral Home at 5304 Harford Road Baltimore MD 21214. Viewings will take place on Wednesday July 7, 2021 at 2pm until 4pm and again from 6pm until 8pm. A second viewing will be held on Thursday July 8, 2021 at 2pm until 4pm and again from 6pm until 8pm. 

A memorial is being held at The Community Fire Company of Rising Sun at 300 Joseph Biggs Memorial Highway Rising Sun MD 21911 on Saturday July 10, 2021 at 1pm. Class A uniforms for firefighter personnel are optional.
